Community Plan

What is a community plan?
A Community Plan is a shared vision for our town’s future. It captures what residents value and how we want our physical environment, services, and infrastructure to evolve. As an Association, we use this document to influence the Latrobe City Council and other authorities, ensuring that when they make official decisions, they are acting on the community’s actual priorities.

How We Work for You

Since we are not the Council, our work focuses on advocacy and partnership:

  • Guiding Local Vision: We work with Latrobe City Council to ensure their zoning and land-use decisions align with the community’s desired character.

  • Focusing on Residents: We prioritize public health, safety, and local access, acting as a voice for the people who live here.

  • Influencing Infrastructure: We coordinate with the bodies that manage our roads, water, and power. We tell them what the community actually wants to see improved.

  • Reviewing Proposals: While the Council grants the final approval for new developments, we review proposals first to advocate for things like neighborhood character, parking, and environmental impact.

  • Balancing Interests: We act as a neutral party to balance economic growth with the social and environmental needs of our residents.
